The Complete Jewish Study Bible from Hendrickson Bibles

Not long after I became a Christian believer, I heard a representative from Jews for Jesus share about the Passover meal and what each part of the meal represents. I found it fascinating.
Since then, I have been to a recreation of the Passover meal with explanation of each part and a few more Jews for Jesus events. Each time I have felt my own faith in Christ was enriched. For that reason, I was excited to receive a copy of The Complete Jewish Study Bible.

The Complete Jewish Study Bible is absolutely beautiful in many ways. The hardcover is a gorgeous, rich blue with a bit of an old Jewish look to it. From the back of the cover this Bible "pairs the newly updated text of the bestselling Complete Jewish Bible with detailed notes and comprehensive study material to help both Jewish and Christian readers understand and connect with the essence of their faith--God's redemptive plan for his people."

During the time I spent reading through this Bible and using it to review, the Jews have celebrated Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. This Bible has articles in it that help explain the history of these holidays from the Bible and their meaning then and now. There are also Scripture readings included for all Sabbaths, Festivals, Feasts and fasts. I especially enjoyed that aspect. All in all, there are over 100 articles, categorized into 12 themes that help explain Jewish customs, names of God and more history. The articles are written by over 30 contributors that are both of Jewish and Christian in their backgrounds.

Each Bible book in The Complete Jewish Study Bible contains an introduction from a Jewish perspective. I would add that the writing at the start of each chapter has a Jewish look to it which I felt added a richness to the book. The original Hebrew names and pronunciation also add to the study. The study notes at the bottom of the pages are so helpful in understanding Bible history and culture, especially the Jewish part of our history.

I would highly recommend this study Bible to any Christian or Jew looking to study both the Bible and the spiritual history of both. I know I have learned many new things in the short time I have had it. I have also felt my faith strengthened as a result. It is beautiful and well done. The print is dark and a nice size to read too.

I received The Complete Jewish Study Bible from Hendrickson Bible publisher. I was not required to write a positive review in exchange for the book.

I received a free copy of this book/Ebook/Product to review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations. I am part of The CWA Review Crew.
