10 Day Belly Slimdown by KellyAnn Petrucci, MS ND

Do you have a little extra belly fat? Do you need to lose just a few pounds? If so, then Dr. Kellyann Petrucci's new book, The 10-Day Belly Slimdown may be just what you are looking for.

Dr. Petrucci is a naturopathic physician and weight-loss specialist who often works with celebrities. The 10-Day Belly Slimdown primarily offers a short term plan for those who want to lose 10 pounds or less. She starts off the book explaining the eating plan and who it will and won't work for. She tells readers just what to expect and why she believes the plan works for people. There are a lot of recipes that look quite good, shopping lists, and meal plans for the 10 days to make it all work together. Bone broth is a key component of the eating plan and she offers several recipes for making your own bone broth. Dr. Petrucci shares a lot of success stories to helps readers see that the plan is doable and can work for them. However, the plan involves more than just eating her recommended diet. There is also a section on the sort of exercises you need to do, tips on gaining confidence, and how to lower stress levels. Then The 10-Day Belly Slimdown ends with recipes and a plan to keep the weight off indefinitely.

I have not done this plan for 10 days, but in considering it, she shares that if you have hormonal issues, along with a list of a few other issues, that you should not do the diet until those are corrected. I have a hormonal issue right now, so I will hold off on starting the plan until I work to correct that issue. At the same time, as my body changes into menopause, I have a little extra belly fat, when I have always been slender. This is why I wanted to try this plan so I was disappointed to read that. Many of the recipes do look tasty and healthy so I plan to try some of those anyway. Recipes include: cobb salad, turkey wraps with green goddess dressing, salmon patties, and Tuscan Chicken, in addition to basic bone broth recipes that look good to try. Dr. Petrucci does also sell her own shakes and supplements which she recommends in the book, although they are not necessary to do The 10-Day Belly Slimdown Plan.
