NKJV Journal the Word Bible Large Print from Thomas Nelson

Image
Bible Art Journaling has been a hobby of mine for the past 2 years. I enjoy being able to creatively reflect God's Word back to Him. If you are considering that hobby, this NKJV Journal The Word Bible in large print would be a great one to get. The NKJV Journal The Word Bible in large print is available in some beautiful cover options, including this nice fabric floral, as well as plainer covers. It has a more easily read 10 point typeface with nice, wide margins with light lines in a thicker, creamy-colored paper for art journaling, or just journaling in general. The words of Christ are in red.It has a beautiful sewn binding that lays flat with a ribbon marker. It is just very nice and still not real large to carry to church, although thicker than some other Bibles. I think this Bible is beautiful inside and out. I like this Bible version and I especially like that it is red-letter. Other Journaling Bibles I have looked at were not. I also like that it is not real la

The Prayer of Protection by Joseph Prince

Image
Psalm 91 has been a favorite psalm of mine for many years. However, I didn't always understand that this psalm was "a powerful prayer of protection given to us by God." The Prayer of Protection by Joseph Prince breaks down this psalm so that we can better understand it and pray this psalm to protect us and deliver us from the enemy. At a time in our world when we feel uncertain about our future and about day to day events in our society, this psalm can help you feel closer to the Lord as you pray it each day. I like that Pastor Prince shares in The Prayer of Protection how this is not a magic psalm that grants you protection. Instead, praying this psalm is all about having a conversation with God and trusting Him to guide you every day. He further shares how it is "all about intimacy and relationship with the Lord." The Prayer of Protection is divided into 12 chapters. Each chapter takes a verse or two from the psalm and shares how praying that verse

I want to be a healthy eater and I want to fix healthy, nourishing meals for my family. Two out of the three of us have gluten and dairy allergies and intolerances. Nourishing Meals is a beautiful book full of information to help someone like me who wants to make changes to benefit the whole family, one meal at a time. I do have some background in eating healthy for myself but have felt challenged trying to get the rest of my family to eat healthfully. The front part of the book is full of a lot of good information on laying the foundations for good health through good nutrition. This book is written by popular food bloggers and leaders in the functional medicine movement, Ali Segersten and Tom Malterre. Together they offer solid information and tips to change your diet and eat more wholesome foods at every stage of your family's life. Created for Connection by Dr. Sue Johnson with Kenneth Sanderfer

Whether you are going to be married or have been married for many years, I think Created for Connection could be one of the most helpful books that you will ever read to make your relationship the best that it can be. Sue Johnson with Kenneth Sanderfer share relationship principles that will have you looking at your relationship in a whole new way. Sue Johnson is the developer of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and according to Dr. John Gottman is "the best couple therapist in the world." This therapy in Created for Connection helps couples create "a stronger, more secure relationship not only between partners, but between us and God." The book encourages couples  to understand that they are attached to and dependent on their partner in much the same way that a child is on a parent and that we are on God to nurture, sooth and protect us. Problems occur when that fails to happen at certain times in the relationship. Johnson offers couples seven transform

Christmas Quiet by Maisie Sparks and Lauren Younis

Image
Since I was a child, I have always loved coloring and found it relaxing. The new Christmas Quiet coloring book and devotional provides a way to color, relax and enjoy the season with devotionals that help me keep my "Mary" focus on Jesus instead of bustling about like "Martha." In the preface of Christmas Quiet , Maisie Sparks shares how she made a choice to stop the frantic Christmas rush through the season and discover the gift of waiting for Christmas. Sparks shares how she spends the first Saturday in December gathering with a group of women at a retreat site to collectively slow their pace and relish a day of silence to focus on an upcoming season of peace. Sparks encourages you through Christmas Quiet to also give yourself permission to meditate on the readings in this coloring book and focus on the true meaning of the Christmas. Each of the 25 readings starts with a Bible verse followed by a related devotional meditation and concludes with a questio

Shaken by Tim Tebow with A. J. Gregory

Image
I admit that I am not a huge sports fan. I really didn't know a lot about Tim Tebow before reading Shaken . However, you don't have to be a football fan to read and enjoy this book. If you aren't a huge football fan like me, Tebow is a former Heisman Trophy winner. He played college football for the Florida Gaters and then played pro football for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets. Through Shaken , we see the highs and lows of a football career through Tim Tebow. Tebow shares how he felt when he was doing so well in the sport and how it felt to be criticized when he wasn't. Through it all, Tebow shares that the most important aspect of his life was living each day for God. Tebow shares how the unchanging God remains the same no matter what ups and downs are in your life. Tebow also shares stories from growing up in his family and how God helped mold him into the man he is today. He shares how he has continued to have faith in God in spite of some challenges
