Walk Run Soar by Dorina Gilmore Young with Shawn Young

Are you a runner or a power walker? If you are and you like to combine your exercise with your faith, Dorina Gilmore Young with Shawn Young have a new devotional out, Walk Run Soar.

Walk Run Soar is a 52-week devotional guide designed to help you train in both body and spirit. Each daily reading starts with a Bible verse and then has a reading that is written to uplift and encourage you in your physical sport and in your spirit. There is a short reading for each day along with a question to help you think about your faith called Faith Step at the end of each day's reading. There is an inspirational quote from someone encouraging each day and there is a running/walking tip from Coach Shawn each day. There is also space to keep track of your physical goals for each day. It isn't a lot of space but you could use an extra journal to do this if you want more room to write. At the end of the book, there are several appendixes with help in forming a running group, warm-up drills for runners, and helps for running races from 5 K to a half-maration.

Walk Run Soar is a truly helpful book for those that want to exercise and run every day to meet new goals. There is a lot of physical helps in this book but there is also a lot of encouragement for keeping your faith aligned with your body work. It is a small package that contains a lot of information. Along with that information, I like how the author helps keep your faith encouraged along with working your body out. Each reading is uplifting and helps to focus on the Bible to keep your faith in today's world.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.
