Blessed In the Mess: How to Experience God's Goodness in the Midst of Life's Pain by Joyce Meyer

 Blessed in the Mess

Blessed in The Mess: How to Experience God's Goodness in the Midst of Life's Pain by Joyce Meyer is the latest release from an author who has written over 140 books. That is a LOT of books!

Many people today say they are in the middle of a mess or their life is a mess. That may be true but Meyer reminds us that we are never in a mess alone. God is with us.

Blessed in the Mess+is divided into three parts. The first part, God Can Bless Your Mess, is where Meyer explains what she sees as messes in our world today. She also shares what she sees as blessings amidst the messes. She shares a lot of her own stories here and throughout the book, but she also shares from the Bible too.

In Part Two, Living a Bless Life, Meyer talks about how to choose to be blessed as well as how to remain patient, grateful and trusting of God in the midst of your mess.

In Part Three, Meyer focuses on the Beatitudes, which she calls the Keys to Blessing. In this section, she teaches from The Beatitudes in the Bible and shares just what and where those verses area, as well as how they bless us today. These blessings are character qualities that are best displayed in mature Christians.

Blessed in The Mess is a fairly long book that is packed full of good information if you are struggling through a modern-world mess and wondering where God is. Meyer has struggled through many messes herself and shares her stories throughout the book. If like me, you have read many of her books, then some of these stories may sound familiar as she has used some of them in books before. Still, they are good illustrations and may bear repeating. She also pulls right from the Bible and teaches verses and stories that work well in this book. Blessed in the Mess is well-written. Meyer always speaks plainly and I think she is easy to understand and relate to.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions of this book are my own.
