Eat Beautiful by Wendy Rowe

Image
I think most women want to have beautiful skin. We just don't know how to always get it. Many times, we change our soap or our external care, when we really need dietary changes to make a difference. Eat Beautiful by Wendy Rowe was written to help you nourish your skin both inside and out. To start with,  Eat Beautiful is divided by the seasons. When Rowe lived in Paris for 4 years, she said she learned to eat with the seasons which made a big difference in how she looked at and felt. With in each seasonal chapter, there is information on ingredients representing each season, such as asparagus, leafy greens, radishes and spinach for spring. Each ingredient is described with nutritional information and how the ingredient could be beneficial to your skin and other aspects of your health. Following the ingredient descriptions within each seasonal chapter are various recipes that could be used for that season. All of the recipes have beautiful color photographs accompanying the...

Snow Country by Kristin Neva

Image
Beth Dawson was recently jilted by her fiance shortly before the wedding in California. To help deal with the heartbreak she feels, Beth heads to Michigan to visit her grandmother. Not only does she enjoy time with her grandmother, but Beth also meets a young attractive state trooper. Her mother wants her to stay single and to help her Grandmother to move to California. What does Beth want? Can Beth heal and move on in a new direction? Is it too soon? What about her rules for Christian courtship? I enjoyed Snow Country and read it within a couple of days. Kristin Neva writes a novel that left me turning the pages quickly to find out the answers to those questions and more. I don't want to share the answers to those questions and spoil the plot. For her first novel, I think Neva has done an excellent job in drawing the reader in and making them feel at home with a lot of fun, lovable characters. I also liked that this novel offers history and information on the Upper Peninsula...

Everything You Need You Have by Gerad Kite

Image
I was intrigued by the description for Everything You Need You Have . Gerad Kite is an Acupuncture Master who formerly was a psychotherapist. Currently, I have been getting acupuncture treatments for some health issues so I thought the book might be helpful to me. At first, I thought Everything You Need You Have was too deep. I struggled initially to get into his whole metaphor of life being like a pendulum to be at home in yourself. Then as I continued on through the book and reading through the many instances of sharing other people's stories and how this metaphor helped them in their lives, I began to understand it more and became able to feel like I could apply it to my own life. At the same time, I still felt like a lot of his information was more geared towards another psychologist than to the average person. I enjoyed the personal stories that Kite shared the most as I worked my way through the book to apply the principles to my own life. Kite goes through 10 steps, w...

Lists to Love By for Busy Wives and Lists to Love By for Busy Husbands are two books that would be great to read to start the new year out on the right foot for your marriage. The best part is that these little books don't take a lot of time and yet your marriage can reap the rewards of your efforts if you will read and apply them regularly. Each Lists to Love By book contains thirty lists. A few of the lists included are: 7 truths about Marriage, Five Things Husbands (or wives) wish Husbands (or wives) knew, 5 ways to use body language to connect, 6 things to do when you're lonely in your marriage and 8 expectations for a great marriage. At the end of each list the authors have included a section entitled, Taking the Next Step. This section gives the reader a few questions to think about to apply the list they just read to their own marriage. Ideally, for the best results, both the husband and wife would each read a Lists to Love By book and work together to improv...
