Battlefield of the Mind Journal by Joyce Meyer

Image
Joyce Meyer is a popular Bible teacher with a bestselling book entitled, Battlefield of the Mind . Meyer wrote this book to help Christians change their thoughts and renew their mind. The Battlefield of the Mind Journal is a blank ruled journal with one quote on each page from Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind book. There is also a chess piece on some pages in the bottom corner, reminding Christians that it is up to them to make the "right" moves. It measures about 6 1/4 inches by 8 1/4 inches in size and is 160 pages long.  Meyer said she hopes "this journal along with her book Battlefield of the Mind , will help you firmly establish in your heart forever that you can think the way God thinks by renewing your mind with His Word and lining up your thoughts with His thoughts. It's a process that will bring you into the life of freedom, peace, and joy that God has created you to live!"With that in mind, the book the journal is based on would be helpful fo...

Warfare Prayers by Quin Sherrer and Ruthanne Garlock

Image
Warfare Prayers for Women: Securing God's Victory in Your Life by Quin Sherrer and Ruthanne Garlock is a beautiful colorful book packed with prayers for all sort of occasions based on Scripture. Warfare Prayers for Women starts out with a brief introduction and is then divided in to eleven parts: Praying with Power, Praying against Hindrances, Praying for Life's Milestones, Praying for Children and Grandchildren, Praying for Family and Friends, Praying When Single, Praying through Tough Times, Praying in My Senior Years, Praying for My Community and Nation, Important Prayer Helps, and Scriptures for Intercession and Warfare. I like that Warfare Prayers for Women is a book that encourages women to pray based on Scripture. In the introduction, the authors make it clear that the most important thing is that we take time to pray each day and to be honest with God and not worry so much about the form of our prayers. We need to spend time praying to God, looking to Him ...

Your Battles Belong to the Lord by Joyce Meyer

Image
I think many people think that in becoming a Christian their life will be easier. However, it doesn't take long to figure out that we are fighting a battle as we live for Christ. Your Battles Belong to the Lord by Joyce Meyer is a comprehensive look at how we can best live for Christ and fight the enemy in the midst of the battles of this life. Meyer starts out Your Battles Belong to the Lord with a chapter entitled Know Your Enemy. She then progresses through the book in explaining, with Scripture to back everything up, how we should best live our life as we try to battle against the enemy. She goes in to great detail and covers so many aspects of living the Christian life that this book is one of the most comprehensive that I have read. Your Battles Belong to the Lord is such a good book to both read and to refer back to when you feel the need to remember Scripture to back up living the Christian life and battling the enemy. One of the first Scriptures she shares in Ch...

Book Review: The Spirit of Python by Jentezen Franklin

Image
In the same way that a python snake can squeeze the life out of its prey, the python spirit (Satan) can squeeze the life out of a believer. I found this analogy to be such a powerful image for me to visualize. The information in this book by Jentezen Franklin was so helpful in understanding spiritual warfare. With that image of the snake in my mind, I feel like I can better see and pray through the spiritual warfare in my life. The Spirit of Python is divided into three parts. In part one, you learn to understand how Satan and demons work and whether you might be under attack. In part 2, Jentezen Franklin shares various ways the evil spirits can work to destroy parts of your life. In the third part, the reader learns how to use prayer, Scripture, faith, praise and the armor of God to stand up against the enemy. For me, the three parts were clearly presented and easy for me to understand. I appreciated how these areas were clearly defined, with Scripture back up, in such a way...
