100 Devotions for Kids Dealing with Anxiety by Justine Froelker

Image
For some young people, if they spend time thinking about it, there is a lot to be anxious about in the world right now--school work, relationship issues, world problems, and more. 100 Devotions for Kids Dealing with Anxiety by Justine Froelker could be a book that would help some tweens and teens as it is aimed at those ages eight to thirteen, but depending on the person could be helpful to those slightly young or older than that. In 100 Devotions for Kids Dealing with Anxiety , each reading starts with a Bible verse, followed by a short devotional to read, and ending with prompts to write related to each reading. There is a lined space following each prompt, but for those who write a lot, they might want to use their own blank book/notebook.  100 Devotions for Kids Dealing with Anxiety includes readings on giving worries to God before bed, Waiting and Patience, Feeling afraid, and feeling like we are enough, among other issues related to anxiety. Each reading is fairly sh...

Roar Like a Lion by Levi Lusko with Tama Fortner

Sometimes growing up is both hard and scary. Roar Like a Lion by Levi Lusko with Tama Fortner is a book of 90 devotional to help kids feel more courageous in the faith as they live in this world today. Roar Like a Lion is written for kids ages 6 to 10 years old. Lusko talks about lions in the introduction and I learned quite a bit about lions in this short space. He also tells us that he wrote this book in honor of his daughter, Lenya, who passed away. At the end of the introduction, he tells readers that there are twenty anchors hidden throughout the book and invites kids to find them all. He writes one devotion called, The Anchor, in which he explains why anchors are an important symbol to him in his Christian faith.  Each of the 90 devotionals starts with a Bible verse, includes a Christian reading to relate to verse to what kids may be facing. Some readings include a Did you know? section with some real life history to learn, while others include a small ...

The Circle Maker Devotions for Kids by Mark Batterson

Image
Mark Batterson is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed The Circle Maker for adults so I was excited to see The Circle Maker Devotions for Kids . This book did not disappoint me either. There are 100 devotions in The Circle Maker Devotions for Kids which is written and designed for children ages eight and up. The book starts off with the story of Honi the circle maker who drew a circle in the sand and didn't budget until God answered his prayer. Batterson also tells the story of the Israelites marching circles around Jericho in one of the first few devotions. Throughout the book, each devotion is designed to inspire readers to pray more and to trust that God will answer their prayers in bigger ways than they can imagine. I especially like this devotional. The Circle Maker Devotions for Kids would be really nice to use as a family or as an individual for children learning to have their own prayer times. Each reading is focused on the a Scripture from the Bible and offers sol...
