  Are you a runner or a power walker? If you are and you like to combine your exercise with your faith, Dorina Gilmore Young with Shawn Young have a new devotional out, Walk Run Soar . Walk Run Soar is a 52-week devotional guide designed to help you train in both body and spirit. Each daily reading starts with a Bible verse and then has a reading that is written to uplift and encourage you in your physical sport and in your spirit. There is a short reading for each day along with a question to help you think about your faith called Faith Step at the end of each day's reading. There is an inspirational quote from someone encouraging each day and there is a running/walking tip from Coach Shawn each day. There is also space to keep track of your physical goals for each day. It isn't a lot of space but you could use an extra journal to do this if you want more room to write. Run Forever by Amby Burfoot

I think running sounds like a great way to relax and to exercise on all of the park trails near my house.  While it sounds good, I haven't really known how to start. Run Forever by Amby Burfoot is a helpful book if you are a beginner like I am. Although, I think he has some tips even experienced runners could use. Burfoot is a life-long runner who is now in his 70s. Among other races, he has run the Boston Marathon many times and won it in 1968. Before retiring, he was also editor-in-chief of Runner's World magazine. He continues to run today, although he says he runs slower. He shares a lot of information that he has gleaned through the years in Run Forever . Burfoot says in the introduction that "Running is the simplest of sports. It deserves a simple book. That is why I wrote Run Forever." He organized the book into six main sections: Getting Started, Nutrition for Runners, Going Farther, Dealing with Injuries, Getting Faster and Running Forever.
