Bedtime Snuggles by Patricia Reeder Eubank

Image
Bedtime is such a great time to snuggle in and read with your little one(s). Bedtime Snuggles by Patricia Reeder Eubank is a board book aimed at toddlers age four and under. This adorable book with the soft animal pictures and the flowing words would be a great choice for bedtime reading. Bedtime Snuggles measures roughly 8 by 8 inches and has the thick pages of a board book that will stand up to little hands turning pages. The illustrations are bright and eye-catching with animal and farm scenes. There are plenty of rhymes and rhythm in this story and it easily rolls of the tongue for the reader. It could be fun to talk about the animals in each picture and help children know their animals too. However, I did think one thing was a little odd.  This book mainly features moms curling up with their young ones. I don't see dad mentioned at all, which surprised me, but for single moms that may work better. In any case, I thought it worth mentioning. Bedtime Snuggles is a beau...

Dozers Don't Doze by Melinda Rathjen and Illustrated by Gareth Williams

Image
Dozers Don't Doze by Melinda Rathjen is such a cute bedtime board book for young children up to about three years old--especially those who like to fight bedtime "sleepies" even though they are tired. Dozers Don't Doze is 24 pages, roughly 7 inches square, and has bright, vibrant illustrations. The text has wonderful rhythm. The lines throughout the book work well to tell a cute bedtime story for little ones. My family liked both the text and the illustrations and thought it all worked well together. I received this book from the publisher. All opinions within this review are my own.

Penguin and Moose Brave the Night by Hannah C. Hall Illustrated by Stacy Curtis

There is just something about being in the dark that seems to stir up all the fears inside us, especially in children. Penguin and Moose Brave the Night by Hannah C. Hall is the second Penguin and Moose book and is a cute way to talk about night time fears with young children. Penguin and Moose Brave the Night starts out with Penguin going over to Moose's house for a sleepover. In a different house and bed, Penguin starts to feel afraid. When he admits his fears to Moose, Moose reminds him that God is with him wherever he goes so he needn't be afraid. Let me start off by saying that I love Stacy Curtis's illustrations in this series. They are whimsical and appealing to young children--and adults. The book is a nice roughly 9-inch square size. This story would be a cute one to read with young children before they go on a sleepover as this is about Penguin's first sleepover. It is natural for children to be a bit apprehensive to sleeping somewhere different even when t...

Bedtime books have always been a special favorite at our house. My husband and I have a few memorized--as I imagine many other parents do as well. The new Touch and Feel God Bless You and Good Nigh t board book is especially sweet for young children with the rhyming prose, gorgeous illustrations and fun spots to touch on each page. Your little one can help cute animals say "good night" through God Bless You and Good Night 's story with penguins, kangaroos, elephants and more. Besides listening to the cute rhyming story, your young children can get into the action and touch all the animals on the pages and feel them throughout the book. This sturdy board book is a bedtime story keeper for us. God Bless You and Good Night is a large 8 by 8 inch sturdy book with soft, silky, satiny, shiny places to touch throughout the book. The illustrations are adorable and the story is sweet, rhyming prose. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a new interactive bedtime ...

Adorable brightly-colored illustrations help bring each profession to life for the young readers. This book has short rhyming verses and great rhythm. The illustrations are great.
