100 Inspirational Quotes by Joyce Meyer

Image
Short, practical Godly wisdom is so helpful to guide our days. 100 Inspirational quotes and the Life Changing Scriptures Behind them from Joyce Meyer is full of wisdom and guidance based on Scripture for living each day in a positive, godly way. Not only is it full of solid Biblical advice, but this book is beautiful inside and out. Nearly all of the quotes and verses in the book are decorated with beautiful watercolor flower designs like the front cover. Three of my favorite quotes: Be a God-pleaser, not a people-pleaser. (Based on Galatians 1:10) God is a giver, and when we give unselfishly, we are more like Him than at any other time in our lives. (Based on John 13:34) There's a difference between being busy and being fruitful, Are you busy are fruitful? (Based on Matthew 7:17-18) I like so many of these quotes and the Scriptures alongside them to meditate on that it was hard to pick three. One Hundred Inspirational Quotes from Joyce Meyer would make a great gift boo...

31 Proverbs to Light Your Path by Liz Curtis Higgs

Image
I think Proverbs are some of the most practical verses from the Bible to apply to every day life. I try to read some every day. 3 Proverbs to Light Your Path by Liz Curtis Higgs takes thirty-one verses from Proverbs, studies them, and then relates them all to modern life today. In 31 Proverbs to light Your Path, Higgs has a reading for each of the 31 highlighted Proverbs. She shares the verse and then relates a story that helps the reader relate that verse to real-life today. At the end of the reading for the day, she offers a prayer. There is also a One Minute, One Step activity challenge to act out what you have learned for the day. Higgs encourages you to really take the short amount of time to do these activities. "By moving straight from words to actions, we can immediately apply what we've learned and discover how God uses even the smallest steps to lead us in the right direction," she says. One of the last, and best, features of this book is a Study Guide. Hig...

Bible Promises for parents of children with Special Needs by Amy E.Mason

Parents of children with special needs have a unique set of daily challenges. As the mom of a child with special needs I often feel the struggles are mine alone. Bible Promises for parents of children with Special needs was designed to speak to this unique parenting journey and to remind parents they are not alone. Bible Promises for Children with special needs is an alphabetically arranged book. Some of the categories included in the book are: Attitude, Change, Comfort, Encouragement, Fear, Guilt, Loneliness, Pressure, Rest, Stress, Trials, and Weary. Each topic includes verses that relate to that topic as well as a paragraph that relates those verses to special needs parenting. I thought this  Bible promise book was so helpful and encouraging with both the Scripture verses and Mason's extra helpful words. I found it to be good to read straight through but also a good quick reference when you need help on a certain topic. It also keeps you turning back to God during those ...
