Artisan Collection Bible from Zondervan
There are a few different gorgeous cover designs available but all are created using a layered alcohol ink painting technique. I received the beautiful blue as posted in my picture above but they also have a cover done in shades of pinks and one with pastels with a bit of gold mixed in all of the colorations. The Bibles also have two satin ribbon markers and gilt page edges. Each one is unique and SO pretty.
I have another Bible that I purchased a couple of years ago with pre-printed pictures to color in the column next to Bible verses. However, I have been wanting to try my hand at making my own art journal pictures. I also want to be able to write notes on the lines next to the text. For my first one, I used a picture from an art journaling help book so it isn't completely original. However, it was a good place for me to start as I begin to get the feel of drawing in a Bible. I used thin Staedtler markers and I didn't have any problem with bleed through. The pages are sort of an off-white color and fairly thick with lightly ruled journaling lines. I have to be honest, I was a bit hesitant to get started for fear I would make a mistake. However, now that I did one page, I am anxious to do more with my own artwork.
The print size of the Artisan Collection Bible is a 9.5 point comfort print typeface. I especially like this feature as I stared wearing glasses the past few years. It is also red letter, which I like. The print is quite dark and easy to read as a result, along with the print size. I am using the New International Version but this Bible also comes in the New Revised Standard Version.
I received this Bible for free as a member of the Bible Gateway Blogger Grid. It is available at the Bible Gateway store or through any other store that carries books and Bibles:
