Today I have the pleasure of reviewing A Love Most Precious: 90 Devotions on the Book of Ruth by Anita Higman. After my review, there is also a link for a giveaway so you don't want to miss that!

A Love Most Precious is such a beautiful small book.This book is a great size to stick in your purse or book bag or to keep alongside your Bible on your night stand. Each reading is about two pages long and includes a Bible verse from the book of Ruth, a short devotional story to go along with your Bible reading and a prayer to end the day. 

The book of Ruth is a short Bible book but it sure packs a lot of great inspiration for living the Christian life. A Love Most Precious focuses on the themes found in the book of Ruth--loyalty, forever friendship, compassion, grace, love, and the power of redemption. That is how you get 90 devotions out of 4 short chapters--the book of Ruth is packed with much of the great stuff in the Christian life. Alongside the book of Ruth, the author has also included some devotions from the book of Proverbs, which Ruth would have known from her day. All of these readings take Bible life and apply it well to our life today. These Bible books comes alive through this devotional and inspire me to live each day in God's best. 

I also love the beautiful design of A Love Most Precious from the cover that carries through the pages. I not only enjoy reading it, but I also like how pretty it is. This devotional would make a wonderful gift for Mother's Day or any other special occasion for a Christian woman.

The 5-Minute Bedtime Treasury by Hannah C. Hall is a beautifully illustrated children's book with some fun rhyming stories inside it. Measuring roughly 8 1/4 inches square it is a fun size to read in bed together. This story book is aimed at pre-school children up to age 4. There is one story that talks about going to school so kindergarten children may enjoy it as well. There are six stories in the 5-Minute Bedtime Treasury.  God Bless You and Good Night God Bless My Friends God Bless My School God Bless My Family God Bless My Home All of these stories are illustrated by Steve Whitlow with what I would call softly-vibrant pictures. The pictures look soft and warm and yet are vibrant in color. I think they are just gorgeous and well liked by children.
