About the Author

Sergeant Mark Tappan shares a special bond with his K9 partner Mattis, one of the most decorated police K9s of all time. He knows that true success is built on relationships—with friends and family, the communities we’re in, and the dogs beside us. He learned his canine-training skills from his father, who trained Labrador retrievers. Mark often talks about how his determination and competitive drive set him up well for his careers as a marine, a youth pastor, and now a sergeant in the Alpharetta Police Department. While Mark has trained many dogs in his tenure as an officer, he believes Mattis is the best.

Essential Speed Reading Techniques starts out by explaining what speed reading is and what it is not. If you thought speed reading was just skimming a book like I did, Seberson will define what it really means in this book and how to use it to your full advantage. While I read this book, I am not yet a better, faster reader. I am improving, but as the author shares, this is a process that takes time and is a skill worth learning. Seberson offers both advice and practice exercises in this book to help you learn and grow into the reader you want to be. I was impressed with Essential Speed Reading Techniques . I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who wants to be a better reader.   Every day is full of emotional highs and lows. Do you know how to manage your emotions? Joyce Meyer has a new 90-day devotional book, Managing Your Emotions , that could help you do just that. At the start of Managing Your Emotions , Meyer has an introduction explaining why she wrote the book, her struggle with emotions in the past, and how the book could be helpful to you.
