Do you know anyone with a Christmas birthday? Holly Sinclair has hated Christmas for a long time. She has a Christmas birthday with a "Christmas" name, Holly. This year her brother, Ryan, has set her up with another Christmas Grinch, Nick Kinsley, for this year's family Christmas gathering. Holly and Nick Hate Christmas is a mainly fun ride with Holly and Nick.

This has been a difficult year for Holly as she was downsized from her job and coming to the gathering as an unemployed person. To make matters worse, this year is also a milestone birthday year for Holly.

Holly and Nick Hate Christmas is full of family members hiding secrets. Honestly, I am not usually a fan of books with communication issues where people need to just be honest. However, honesty WAS used in a few places and I liked that aspect. I also liked the characters for the most part. There was some humor, as you would expect, and I liked that too.

I did enjoy much of the story. It is a cute tale and the HEA ending was definitely enjoyable as well as some swoony parts. 

I will add that I am a Christmas baby so one reason I wanted to read Holly and Nick Hate Christmas was because I relate to having my Christmas birthday overlooked year after year. Honestly, I didn't really feel that was handled in a way that left me satisfied. I wish the mom had been a little more apologetic and understanding of Holly's feelings. She mostly used humor, which I understand as it is a rom-com story. However, I couldn't help but insert my own feelings here and wish for a bit more because I know how much it hurts to have a birthday overlooked.

Book Review: The Story Keeper by Lisa Wingate

I was thrilled to be part of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Books this year. . I am a members of Circle 17. . .a group of 5 sisters who committed to reading Lisa Wingate's book, The Story Keeper, and sharing our thoughts with one another. . .a traveling book group.   Loyally, Luke by Pepper Basham is the third book in the epistolary series following Authentically, Izzy and Positively, Penelope.I have been anxiously awaiting this book and pretty much squealed when it came in the mail! Luke Edgewood is a guy who works in the construction industry and has remodeling skills. He wears flannel and he likes his dogs and he likes his sisters--but he isn't romantic like they are. Or so he says.In Loyally, Luke, Luke goes to Skymar to work a construction job on a orphanage that happens to be in a castle.
