Meet Me in the Margins by Melissa Ferguson
I have been especially enjoying lighter romance novels this year. Meet Me in the Margins by Melissa Ferguson was a fun and relaxing read--perfect for summer or the beach.
Savannah Cade works as an editor for a non-fiction publishing house. However, her real dream is to have her own romance novel published--and she has a secret manuscript that she has written and is ready to submit.
Savannah's publishing house has a new employee, William Pennington, the son of the house's CEO. He seems stiff, and in their first big meeting where he was introduced, Savannah drops her manuscript pages all over the room when she trips.
Meet Me in the Margins plot follows a series of mishaps. In the beginning, Savannah's manuscript doesn't pass muster with the editor she hoped to impress. The editor then gives her 6 weeks to make it better and re-submit it. Savannah is discouraged until she realizes she has a secret editor who finds her manuscript and pens notes in the margins. Then back and forth they pen notes until the six weeks is up.
I enjoyed getting to know both Savannah and William. I wasn't a fan of some of the other characters but they were handled well in the plot. I did figure out who the secret editor was ahead of time but it didn't spoil anything for me. I liked a couple of the other surprises that I did have in the ending but no spoilers here from me.
Meet Me in the Margins by Melissa Ferguson was a cute story with You've Got Mail vibes. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. It is also out in a movie form and is a cute movie streaming on GAFM channel and Great American Pure Flix. The movie brings the book to life and is fun to watch too.
Thank you to author Melissa Ferguson @ourfriendlyfarmhouse, publisher @thomasnelsonfiction, and marketing company @greatreadsbookpromo for the gifted copy of Meet Me in the Margins. All opinions are my own.
