TLC Book Tour Stop: The Bright Side of the Other Side by Sara McDaniel
I picked up my copy of The Bright Side of the Other Side by Sara McDaniel intending to peruse it before reviewing it. . . but it quickly drew me in and I couldn’t put it down. I was done in 24 hours. Sara’s story reads like a novel, complete with a difficult storyline, yet full of hope, and complete with a happy ending. There are a lot of people who have faced difficulties and have a story that offers hope, but not everyone can write that story in such a beautiful way. Sara’s written story flows so well. Her heartbreak and challenges are balanced by her hopeful outlook. I think this book could offer hope to other people facing hard things of various kinds. I felt hopeful after reading it and my hard things are different than Sara’s. Sara faced infertility, infidelity in a marriage, and an unwanted divorce. She also dealt with a big health challenge and faced a job lay-off. Unbeknownst to her, restoration was coming in several ways after facing these challenges.
She moved back to Louisiana to Minden, which not only changed her life—there were good changes in the town as she kept growing and changing herself and growing her brand. She also kept trusting God with the outcome. It took some time, but good things came from the wreckage as she restored a small cottage and her life.
I would also add that I wasn't familiar with Sara's story from following her on social media. I didn't follow her before reading The Bright Side of the Other Side, but now I do. This book will obviously appeal to Sara's fans but I think it will also make new fans, like me.
From the Publisher:

About the Author
After a devastating divorce, Sara McDaniel moved to Minden, Louisiana, and walked away from her corporate career to rebuild her life. Restoring a dilapidated 1926 cottage became a powerful metaphor for her own healing—each nail and brushstroke echoing the faith and hope that guided her forward. Sara now shares this journey of resilience and transformation online, inspiring people to embrace second chances. Beyond renovating homes, she founded Phillip’s Cottage, a transitional haven for women and children in recovery, and opened Purvéy, a vintage emporium in historic downtown Minden. Furthering her mission to showcase beauty in the broken, Sara also renovated The Villas at Spanish Court: eight abandoned apartments turned into a boutique overnight stay experience just on the edge of downtown Minden. Her story proves that from broken foundations, new beginnings can rise.
