Bookmarked for Love by Sarah Monzon

I was anxiously waiting for Martha Aldridge's story after reading the first two books in the Checking Out Love series by Sarah Monzon. Bookmarked for Love is the third book in the series and it did not disappoint me.

Martha is the children's part-time librarian. Besides her paid work, she also volunteers her time to provide some extra programs because she enjoys working with the children so much. She lives on a horse farm where she does some work in exchange for her living quarters so she can afford to do that. However, when budget cuts come up and Martha's job is cut, Martha doesn't want to disappoint the children, but she also can't afford to work entirely free either.

Martha decides to talk to a publishing company to see if they could donate enough money to repair a damaged roof and pay Martha. She has a history with this company already as her parents work for the owners. She winds up talking to Julien King, son of the owners, and he hires her to do some consulting work for his children's imprint. Martha and Julien grew up close to each other but there is an age difference of a few years. . .but as now middle-aged people that doesn't matter so much.

I enjoyed watching Martha and Julien get reacquainted. I also liked how there was healing of an old wound for Martha. Bookmarked for Love also is inclusive in that Martha says she is a full-figured woman. All of the books in this series feature someone who is unique in some way. I especially loved that aspect. In real life, we nearly all have something that makes us unique. I like reading about people facing different challenges and Monzon does a great job with that. I also enjoyed the fact that Martha and Julien were flawed but still attracted to each other. I loved the ending and how the author wrapped up the whole series.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and the author. All opinions are my own.

Bookmarked for Love by Sarah Monzon releases on July 21, 2026 from Bethany House Publishers. It is now available for pre-order.
